My big bag for chub dog food or french bread.

This was a bag I came up with out of need. I buy my dog fresh dog food in a chub like tube. It's 16 inches long and has metal clips closing the ends. SO these chubs wont fit in normal grocery bags or totes and the metal rips the plastic bag. It is also heavy. 6lbs.

So why not crochet a bag for this need?

This bag measures 22 inches long. Plenty big for the dog food chub and also a loaf of french bread!

I also found that yarn fits just fine. :) I made the bag as one panel starting at one side along the top edge using hdcr and finishing the other side top edge then scr the sides to complete. The strap is one big loop made with HDC and stitched on the bag. I finished it just in time. My dog is almost out of food. Time to head to the pet store!
Happy Crocheting!

My name is Becca, and I am a crochet addict!

I have a confession to make.
I am a crochet addict!

Admitting your addiction is the first step to recovery. I am addicted to crochet web sites, I download every free pattern I see, I shop often for yarn and crochet notions, I hoard craft supplies all over my house. I am addicted!

Don't misunderstand me. I am by no means asking for help with this addiction. I just wanted to come clean, and crochet on!

I thought I would try to get organized and make a list of all the yarn I own. I wrote it down, until I got bored and my hand hurt. Then I took photos. These were taken a month ago. By the time I uploaded them I also had a new bag of yarn I just brought home from Michael's not included in these pictures.

I am running out of space to store this yarn, not to mention places to display my completed work!

I was displaying granny square I made in the Ravelry 2013BAMCAL on a cork board, but ran out of board. I told my kids that I am leaving my half done projects and yarn to them in my will to sort out. They don't seem to amused by that. Oh well.

I don't even want to tell you about the crochet hooks I own. I have plastic, aluminum, soft, or cushy, large and small. I have some nifty places to stash those!

I feel much better. Here is a short list of links that I frequent. I feel like a drunk giving you the addresses of bars I frequent.
* Michael's
* Ravelry.com
* AllFreeCrochet.com
* BobWilson123.org NEW SITE!
* Lion Brand Yarn
* Red Heart Yarn Free Patterns
Enjoy the list. If you see my car out front stop in and say hi!

"Got Plarn"?

This last week I have been working on creating my own pattern for a market bag that I can use to carry home the tubes of fresh dog food for my dog. These chubs have metal clips on the ends that rip plastic bags, and if placed in a regular tote bag they tend to leak blood. Yuck! So I'm creating a tote or bag for this need. I will post pics when I am done.
In the meantime my next project will be a tote bag made from "Plarn". What is Plarn you ask? Its the concept of using or actually REusing plastic bags to make yarn and then crocheting them to create usable items. I want to try to make plarn and crochet a tote bag. Here is the link to a site that explains more on this.

"Plarn is the term used to describe the yarn that can be made from recycling plastic bags. Here is the link to the picture tutorial at this site on how to make plastic bag yarn or plarn from recycled retail plastic bags. Here is my plarn making tutorial if you are recycling plastic newspaper bags or other narrow plastic bags."

This is the tote I may make.

I will keep you updated!
